Dear Passengers,
From November 2025, holders of Chinese passports transiting through Auckland International Airport, New Zealand to a third country (for a stay of less than 24 hours) may use a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) for transit, without the need to apply separately for a transit visa. Passengers can conveniently apply for an NZeTA via the Immigration New Zealand official website or through the mobile app.
China Eastern Airlines will launch the Shanghai – Auckland – Buenos Aires route on December 4, 2025. The implementation of this new policy will provide greater convenience for passengers connecting through Auckland on China Eastern flights to South America and other third countries.
Passengers are reminded to carefully follow the latest transit and visa requirements published by the New Zealand authorities and embassies. Those who intend to enter New Zealand must still obtain the appropriate visitor visa prior to departure.
Thank you for your continued support of China Eastern Airlines.
