Notice on the Release of Involuntary Ticket Cancellation or Exchange Regulations for Some Middle East Routes

2026-03-04

Dear Passengers,

To assist those affected by the recent security situation in the Middle East and to facilitate necessary travel adjustments, China Eastern Airlines has established the following special handling policy for itineraries involving Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Muscat.

I. Eligibility and Scope

This policy applies to tickets meeting all the following criteria:

Ticket Type: Tickets issued on China Eastern Airlines (781 stock) for international, regional, or domestic travel.

Routing: The itinerary must contain at least one unused segment arriving in, departing from, or transiting through Dubai (DXB), Abu Dhabi (AUH), Riyadh (RUH), or Muscat (MCT), including codeshare flights operated by other carriers.

Ticket Issuance: Issued or reissued on or before February 28, 2026, 20:00 (Beijing Time).

Original Travel Dates: Scheduled departure between February 28, 2026, and March 15, 2026 (inclusive). Other unused segments on the same ticket are not restricted by travel date.

Cancellation Requirement: The itinerary must be cancelled on or after February 28, 2026, and prior to the scheduled flight departure.

Note: Passengers who cancel after the scheduled departure (No-shows) or who cancelled on or before February 27, 2026, are not eligible under this policy.

II. Change and Refund Provisions

For eligible tickets, the following rules apply within the ticket validity period:

1. Rebooking

One (1) complimentary change is permitted to a flight within ±3 days of the original scheduled departure.

Subsequent changes, or changes outside the ±3-day window, will be subject to the original fare conditions and applicable fees.

2. Refunds

Unused segments may be refunded via the original ticketing channel without penalty (Involuntary Refund).

If a ticket has already been rebooked under this special policy, any subsequent refund requests will be processed according to the original fare rules.

3. Rerouting and Endorsement

Requests for changes to the destination or carrier are not covered under this policy. Passengers are advised to apply for a refund and purchase a new ticket.

Tickets that do not meet the above criteria will be handled in accordance with the original fare conditions.

Important Reminders

If you have already completed check-in, seat selection, or purchased other services, please cancel these through the original channel before requesting a change or refund.

If your travel plans are uncertain, please ensure your itinerary is cancelled before departure to avoid no-show penalties.

Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.
