Safety instructions for lithium batteries and dangerous goods

Spare lithium batteries must be carried in carry-on baggage only and must be individually protected so as to prevent short circuits. |

Power banks are considered as spare lithium batteries and must be completely switched off in flight. |
|
Lithium ion batteries: the Watt-hour rating must not exceed 100 Wh. Lithium metal batteries:the lithium metal content must not exceed 2 g. |
|
Each person is limited to a maximum of 15 PED and limited to a maximum of 20 spare batteries. |

With operator approval,no more than 2 lithium ion batteries with a watt-hour rating exceeding 100 Wh but not exceeding 160 Wh are permitted in carry-on baggage only for each passenger. Passengers carrying lithium battery powered wheelchairs shall comply with relevant regulations. |
The regulations of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea prohibit placing power banks and electronic cigarettes in the overhead bins and charging these devices on board flights to and from South Korea. For power banks, wrap the electrodes of the batteries with tape or place them in transparent plastic bags or protective bags for storage.

Passengers are prohibited from carrying or checking in self-heating food, such as self-heating hot pots, self-heating rice meals, or other self-heating meal boxes. | |||

Carbon dioxide, solid (dry ice), in quantities not exceeding 2.5 kg per person when used to pack perishables in checked or carry-on baggage, provided the baggage(package) permits the release of carbon dioxide gas. Each item of checked baggage containing dry ice must be marked by “Dry ice” or “Carbon dioxide, solid” and with the net weight of dry ice or an indication that the net weight is 2.5 kg or less. |
