Unaccompanied Minors
I. Who we serve:
We are committed to providing the necessary services to children between the ages of 5 and 12 traveling alone by air.
II. Applicable Routes:
The service is only applicable to direct flights operated by China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines with China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines flight numbers.

IV. Time Limit for Acceptance (before takeoff):
For domestic flights: 48 hours in advance
For international (regional) flights: 96 hours in advance

VIII. Other Requirements:
1. Tickets may be purchased for children with valid identity documents, such as ID cards, household registers (for children aged under 16), or passports. The children must carry the original documents used to purchase tickets during check-in and boarding. Individuals picking up and dropping off minors are asked to go through the relevant procedures at the airport counter with original valid identity documents.
2. Individuals picking up and dropping off minors be aged 18 or over with full capacity for civil conduct.

4. The individuals who have taken the unaccompanied minors to check in are asked to stay at the airport until the flight has taken off.
5. Upon arrival at the destination, our service staff will check the ID of the pick-up person in accordance with the Application for Unaccompanied Minors and have the pick-up person to sign the Application following handover.
6. Passengers who have requested the service for an unaccompanied minor and wish to change a flight or date or cancel the service must contact 95530 or go to the original ticketing channel 48 hours before the departure of the flight. Individuals still in need of this service following a change to the ticket are asked to follow application procedures to re-apply for the service.
7. Ticket changes and refunds are subject to ticketing regulations.
IX. Reminders:
1. All costs incurred in the event the pick-up person fails to appear or delays the pick-up following arrival of the minor at the destination airport shall be borne by the individual applying for the service.
2. China Eastern Airlines assumes the responsibility for transporting unaccompanied minors as adult passengers.
3. Tickets for unaccompanied minors traveling on China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines flights are charged at the applicable adult fare for international flights or 50% of the regular adult fare for domestic flights in China.
4. Short stay 'C' visas (C-VISIT-CHILD ACCOMPANIED) are issued in certain countries on the condition the minor is accompanied by a designated adult(s) and not traveling alone. If your child needs to fly with this type of visa, we will not be able to provide you with unaccompanied minor services.
5. China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines will confirm the application for the flight departure date and contact the applicant (09:00-19:00). Please keep your phone available after making the application. We will reach out to you as soon as possible. If you do not receive a confirmation call or text message from China Eastern Airlines within 4 hours of submitting your application (during working hours), it may indicate that your application failed to be submitted due to network errors or system delays. Please try again or call 95530.
6. Once your application has been submitted online, China Eastern Airlines will be deemed to have received it, though it will still be subject to approval. Your requested flight may be limited by capacity, lack of available seats, or insufficient airport support. In this case, we will contact you to provide you with other options for flight or date. The success of your application is subject to our final approval.

Applicant's Statement:
I confirm that the child named on the application will be dropped off for departure and picked up upon arrival by the individuals named on the application. The drop-off person at the departure airport will stay at the departure airport until the flight has taken off. The pick-up person come to the arrival airport and wait before the flight is scheduled to arrive. If the child is not picked up by the designated person, I authorize the carrier to take the actions necessary to protect the safety of the child, including returning the child to the departure airport, and I agree to pay all reasonable expenses incurred. Once the child has been returned to the departure airport, the original drop-off person will go to the airport to pick him/her up. I confirm that the child has all the necessary valid travel documents (ID card, passport, visa, health certificate, etc.) required by the laws and regulations of the country of departure and arrival cities and relevant governments. As the guardian or authorized person of the guardian of the child named on the application, I hereby agree and request that the child be transported as an unaccompanied minor and certify that all the information provided herein is accurate and correct. I agree to the processing of the personal data of the minor by the carrier(s) and have obtained consent from the drop-off and pick-up persons for the provision of their personal data.
