Passengers Requiring a Stretcher
I. Who we serve:
We are committed to providing the necessary services to passengers unable to board the aircraft or disembark on their own because of an existing condition or who are unable to use a seat in the cabin and must be carried on a stretcher.
II. Applicable Routes:
The service is only applicable to direct flights operated by China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines with China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines flight numbers.

IV. Time Limit for Acceptance (before takeoff):
For domestic flights: 48 hours in advance
For international (regional) flights: 72 hours in advance
V. Application Submission Materials:

3. Certificate of Diagnosis
VI. Materials to Be Carried on Board (printed):
1. Application for Special Passengers (in duplicate)
2. China Eastern Airlines Risk Notification Confirmation (in duplicate)
3. Original Certificate of Diagnosis
VII. The Certificate of Diagnosis must be:
1. Issued by a doctor from a Level II A hospital or higher (including Level II A hospitals in China and equivalent clinics, medical centers, and hospitals abroad) and stamped with the official seal of the medical institution;
2. Issued and signed by a doctor, if the doctor works in an overseas hospital or clinic.
3. In addition to another certificate of diagnosis issued within 48 hours before the flight is scheduled to take off.

IX. Other Requirements:
1. The stretcher service is available for one passenger per flight only and is arranged in economy class.
2. Passengers requiring a stretcher and accompanying personnel or guardians will be charged the applicable economy class ticket fare. The stretcher charge fee is the published ordinary fare for the actual number of seats removed.
3. Passengers requiring a stretcher must be accompanied by at least one medical assistant or adult passenger, who must present an identity document and proof of occupation.
4. Please book the stretcher service before purchasing tickets.
X. Reminders:
1. Passengers requiring a stretcher and a medical oxygen device in flight are asked to submit an application to China Eastern at the time of booking. The use of oxygen is free of charge.
2. Passengers requiring an ambulance are asked to contact the relevant departments (such as airport emergency centers) themselves at their own expense.
3. The free baggage allowance for passengers requiring a stretcher is determined on the basis of the actual number of tickets purchased.
4. China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines will confirm the application for the flight departure date and contact the applicant (09:00-19:00). Please keep your phone available after making the application. We will reach out to you as soon as possible. If you do not receive a confirmation call or text message from China Eastern Airlines within 4 hours of submitting your application (during working hours), it may indicate that your application failed to be submitted due to network errors or system delays. Please try again or call 95530.
5. Once your application has been submitted online, China Eastern Airlines will be deemed to have received it, though it will still be subject to approval. Your requested flight may be limited by capacity, lack of available seats, or insufficient airport support. In this case, we will contact you to provide you with other options for flight or date. The success of your application is subject to our final approval.
